Ok, i recently stumbled onto a post that pointed out some things to me that i hadn't thought of. I knew of the "fake pokemon games", like the obvious Black chaos and Liquid Crystal, but i now know i was entirely ignorant of the "real game" fakes. O.o'.....

I own 6 Pokemon games (although some i dont play anymore):

-Pokemon Stadium for the N64
-Pokemon Gold & Silver for the GBC
-Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness for the GameCube
-Pokemon FireRed & Emerald for the GBA

Now, i KNOW that games Pkmn Stadium through Pkmn XD: GoD ARE LEGIT. But...it's Emerald & FireRed that worry me <:o you see that same post i spoke of earlier listed things (on the cartridges themselves) that would point them to be fakes. That same post gave a link to a YouTube video of a guy that pointed out even more things (such as gameplay errors).

My problem is, i'm almost 100% certain my FR is legit but one thing is wrong, the "imprint" on the front under the sticker isnt there. I noticed this earlier but just thought it was cuz i took good care of it and didnt crease/press on the front. But when i used my nail to feel for the imprint/force it to show, nothing was there!...from what i can remeber, i bought this BRAND SPANKING NEW at Walmart or H-E-B. And everything else about it is perfect, gameplay, saving, sticker design/placement, etc. all except for that "imprint".

Is this anything to be worried about or am i just going a little "overboard"?
normally i wouldnt care but i have a trade date set next month and i'm worried the save file will erase if/when i put it in a DS Lite.

And about the Emerald, it looks 100% legit (even has the "imprint" on the front!) but even though i bought it at GameStop (used..) i've read alot over the net that even fakes are making it into stores! :( and i worry cuz mine's "used" and didnt come with any box or anything (but still cost me $40! D:< wtf?) and i've also heard that theres a 70+% chance of the save data deleting itself the 1st time you beat the E4 and 99% the 2nd time, i havent beaten them once yet and im nervous to even do so. idk if that last part is just for the fake or if that happens in the real ones too?..

and at the time of buying these, like i said, i didnt know people actually went so low as to make fakes of "real" games. So does anyone have any idea if they might be fake? I can put pix if needed, though like i said, they look 100% real (to me that is).

So, I've been considering it since September and now I don't think I can take it anymore. I want to break down and import SS from Japan (I'll be buying HeartGold here in America next year, yay!). However, I had a few questions.

One, what website do you guys use to buy your imports?

Two, do I need to use any other method of payment, or does my Visa card work (I'm assuming that it does)?

Three, about how long does it take to ship?

I'm hearing mixed accounts on what happens when you don't shine your badges in DPPt ranging from them breaking and consequently having to rechallenge gym leaders to not being allowed entry into the Elite Four until you shine them to the shining of badges to being something you don't really have to worry about.

So, is there a point to shining badges other than aesthetic purposes? (and aside from you know, playing simple melodies on them.)

I have a few questions.

1. I was trying to trade via the GTS in Platinum and I've come across a few pokemon where I meet the requirements but I'm unable to select the proper pokemon from my box to trade. For example, I was trying to trade for a Krabby. Only requirement was a male Larvitar. I have that, but I can't select it. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know what the problem is?

2. Are there any special tricks to encountering the legendary dog in Fire Red and Leaf Green? I have both versions and have gotten to the point where a legendary dog should be roaming. Is it just random encounter or is there a way to track it like in DPPt?

So, Today I went to the Toy 'R' Us that is at New York City's Times Square for the Arceus event.
Turns out after calling them that morning to see if they were going to do the event, they had canceled.

I was upset finding this out because I had spent time getting to the Toy 'R' Us, had to fight around tourists with feet that was giving out were on me for the past week, and the time I had spent walking I could have used working on my Thesis comic for school so I can get ahead on it..

My boyfriend took me to the Nintendo store after we found out about the cancellation to cheer me up.
At the store we found out what had happened at the Toys 'R' Us from one of the managers.
It turns out that someone went to the store with a hacked Pokemon, with a offensive name, that went into the people's games instead of the Arceus.
The even more messed up part is; the Nintendo store manager told us that the same thing had happened at the last event at the same Toys 'R' Us...

All I can do now is call in Monday and see if they are still going to do it and hope....
The Nintendo store manager said that Nintendo is going to release and explanation about what happened at the event in NYC... So Arceus event may not happen at all in that Toy's 'R' Us...

...or the people at OUR toy's r us are just dumb. (Which half of them were) The thing wasn't working there, needless to say, and it looks like they're going to have to wait till monday to call a nintendo rep guy to see about it, so I was wondering if someone could trade me one? I'll probably go back next weekend or later in the week to try again, but just incase I don't I was wondering if anyone could spare or clone one? I can clone, but if you want to trade one to me to clone and have me give it back to you, I would like to test my connection first. It was always finnicky on pearl, and I haven't tried on platinum yet.

A few days ago I was challenged to a pokemon battle. Being caught off guard and a non-competitive battler, my lv. 72-83 pokemon were beaten. I posted here and everyone pretty much said the same thing - Smogen. Still, knowing nothing about movesets and strategy, I've pretty much just picked my faves that weren't on my other team and threw them together, hoping for the best. Here's what I got, suggestions are wanted more than a legit shiny mew. :P

Replaying through Red has made me realise that, despite the power of nostalgia, I really like the newer games better. Better graphics, better music, but most of all, no weird mechanics regarding the accuracy of Pokeballs.

Because in the original Red and Blue (not sure about Yellow), you can throw a Pokeball and MISS, usually in the Safari Zone or against a legendary. This is Supremely Annoying, because there is no indication of what makes you miss the Pokemon. In the Safari Zone, it's usually when you use bait (which is why, to this day, I do not use bait very readily). Earlier today, I was trying to catch Articuno, and kept missing for no readily obvious reason. Seriously, isn't Articuno really big? How do I miss a giant blue bird? I don't think the player character is that pants-on-head retarded, despite only ever saying Yes and No. What the hell.

Then I pressed A and Up while throwing, and not only hit the thing, but caught it (incidentally, it was at low HP and paralyzed). I'm beginning to see where all those rumours came from.

Don't forget, the Arceus event starts tomorrow at Toys R Us in the US!

Nov. 7 - 15 at Toys R Us for Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum!

communtycard says that the event does run during store hours, if it's not available, just ask a TRU employee to start the signal.

I assume it'll function like the movie Arceus and unlock a Level 1 Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina in HeartGold and SoulSilver.

The Pokémon website has information on this Arceus and the movie airing Nov. 20 on Cartoon Network in the US.

I think the event is occurring elsewhere, but I'm not sure on the details.

darkyo says that it'll be in Australia at EB Games. Their post from earlier. Those dates for Australia are Nov. 5 - 12 I should note.

1.) Pokémon Silver version. They are my favorite generation to play (so obviously totally stoked for HGSS)! Plus it was my second version EVER. Pokémon Yellow, my first version, is a close second.

2.) Tough one! But I think I'm gonna go with Mystery Dungeon: Blue rescue team. I could play that FOREVER. <3

So I just got my copy of SoulSilver in the mail! I figured, I played The original Silver a billion times, I should be able to figure out the japanese one, NP! Well.... yeah, having some trouble here =D Can someone point me towards transcripts or something? I know there's translations up for the ROMs so I figure maybe I'll get lucky and there are translations on some Website that I can read off so I can play this game rather than having to wait to get the English Heart Gold and play the two simultaneously :P
